In the course of VIE, at Foro Boario in Modena (on the occasion of the year that UNESCO designated as the “Grotowski’s Year” in memory of this big theatre director and theatre practitioner) it will be set up the exposition Mój Grotowski, mounted by the polish photographer Andrzej Paluchiewicz.
The exposition will be constitute of large photos, of screenings, and will be enriched with an original soundtrack composed by the American artist Timothy Imlay.
Paluchiewicz studied in the Grotowski’s Teatr Laboratorium since 1966 and successively he became an actor and a member of the group for more than ten years.
During these years Paluchiewicz, afterward having become a professional photographer, realized a lot of photos that today represent an exceptional proof of what happened in the years of the Grotowskian experience in the life and in the theatre, toward a new way of perceiving the word through an unrepeatable research in the culture of the twentieth-century .
His photos, precious and personal memory of a pupil and a fellow traveller of the polish teacher, bring back to a Theatre as discipline and life and as practice that becomes theory and scene. On a present doing past in the mark of the frame, on a past taking place again in the Foro Boario.
Beside the Exposition it will be set up a video station to project the fifth episode of I cinque sensi del teatro, program edited by Mario Raimondo, produced by RAI with the Centre for Theatre Research and Experimentation of Pontedera in the 1992.
The episode titled Il Teatr Laboratorium of Jerzy Grotowski, is entirely dedicated to the experience of the Teatr Laboratorium, and to the person of Jerzy Grotowski, who let his last television interview in that occasion. Direction by Marianne Ahrne.
